The World's Longest Shot Ski returns to Park City for a second installment on October 14. Make sure you get your tickets to join in on the biggest block party in town!

Everyone loves a shot ski, but there's something special about a shot ski that takes up an entire block and crushes a world record. Now is your opportunity to join in on the biggest block party in Park City, make history, and support local nonprofits all at the same time. On October 14 the Sunrise Rotary hosts its 2nd Annual World's Longest Shot Ski event on Main Street! That's right, thanks to the enthusiastic response of residents and visitors last year, the Sunrise Rotary is again inviting us all to come out and and take a shot of Wasatch beer for both a good cause and bragging rights.

The event is part of an ongoing rivalry with Breckenridge, Colorado. The enormous "shot ski" is actually comprised of 440 skis bolted together. For the inaugural edition in 2016, the Sunrise Rotary worked tirelessly to collect, clean, and prepare hundreds of skis ahead of the event to be assembled the day of the shot ski. This year's event aims to beat the record of 1,234 participants set by Breckenridge in January after Park City beat their previous record last year. Now, the Sunrise Rotary is aiming even higher. “Our goal for 2017 is to sign up a total of 1,250 beer-lovers who also want to support our Rotary,” says Connie Nelson, Sunrise Rotary member. “We are currently in the process of adding the additional skis and greatly appreciate Big Shots coming on board again this year and donating all of the shot ski mounts.  I have no doubt that we will again be able to beat the record of Breckenridge to reclaim the crown!”

Wasatch Brewery founder Greg Schirf will be on the scene handing out schwag to the best costumes at the shot ski event.

The actual shot will take place at 2 p.m., but the celebration will last all afternoon because Wasatch Brewery is hosting a beer garden from noon until 6 p.m. with plenty of games, live music, a food truck, and, of course, their award-winning craft beers. True to Park City, dressing up in costume will be encouraged. "To inspire everyone to dress up in costume, Wasatch Brewery founder Greg Schirf will be handing out gift cards and Wasatch 'swag' to entrants dressed in the best regalia," says Wasatch Marketing Director Judy Cullen. "The goal, like last year, is to have fun while raising money for a very worthwhile cause."

Proceeds from the event will go to Park City Sunrise Rotary which will then distribute funding to numerous nonprofits around Park City. Tickets for this year's shot ski event includes three different options:

  • $20 ticket, good for one unreserved spot on a ski
  • $25 ticket, good for one unreserved spot on a ski plus entrance to the beer garden, plus your first beer (capacity limited to 600)
  • $500 VIP Team Ticket, which includes:
    • 6 reserved spots on two skis
    • 2 skis wrapped with your team or company name to take home as a souvenir
    • 6 entrance passes to the Wasatch Beer Garden
    • 6 beer tokens.
