At the heart of every great dinner party is human connection. Former corporate executive and lawyer Ashley Gould understands this deeply. Shortly after relocating from San Francisco to Park City with her family in 2020, she launched an exquisite collection of tableware and gifts, Âme Atendre, to help bring people together around the dining table.

Drawing inspiration from the mindful gathering culture she experienced while living for a stint in France in the '90s, Gould wanted to create objects that counter the modern tendency to rush through meals and conversations. Her brand’s name beautifully reflects this mission: combining “âme” (spirit or soul) with the old French word “atendre” (to attend to or take care of). She hopes the collection will help nurture relationships through thoughtful design.

“My mom had a stationery and gift shop when I was growing up, and she also loved to entertain and set a beautiful table,” says Gould. “I combined both of these things when I created the brand, which is really about gathering and increasing human connection.”    
Working alongside principal designer Dylan Williamson, Gould produces the stunning line of ceramics, glassware, and serveware in small batches, and the brand’s ceramics are hand-thrown here in Utah by Villa Ceramics. The collection is a beautiful blend of high-end aesthetics and everyday practicality—pieces that are special enough for entertaining but durable enough for everyday use. 

“I design things the way I want to use them,” explains Gould. “My cutting board, for example, has cutouts on the sides so it is easy to pick up and move. They are handmade and have beautiful designs. They are meant to last.”

Beyond plates and bowls, Âme Atendre also offers a selection of thoughtful gift items, including handcrafted backgammon sets, chic stationery, rich oils, and artisanal sweets—everything a good host needs to create a welcoming environment for their guests. A new product, a colorful powder room waste bin with a hidden, compostable liner, is set to launch soon.

“Part of my ethos is ‘Fewer, better things,’” says Gould. “We don’t need a million of something, but we should invest in better quality so it lasts and is differentiated.” 

To further inspire thoughtful gathering, Gould hosts a podcast called, “On the Table with Ashley.” Through this platform, she explores how sharing a meal can transform our relationships. The series covers hard conversations and life experiences with guests from various professions, from nutritionists to tattoo artists, proving that not only is Gould setting a beautiful table, she’s offering a seat at one, too.
