Writer’s Guidelines
Park City Magazine happily accepts Park City-specific story pitches for full-length features, medium-length department stories, and short, snappy sidebars in the following categories: localized national trends; news; arts and culture; nightlife; history; food and drink; outdoor recreation; and local resident profiles. Prior to submitting your ideas, please read two or three issues of Park City Magazine so that you can get a sense of the magazine's premise and tone.
Want to work with us? Please send us the following materials:
1. No more than three clips.
2. A résumé or a summary of your experience as a writer or editor.
3. A single, well-written story proposal that lays out the angle of your story, shows that you’ve done enough research to know what you’re talking about, identifies sources with whom you might speak, and aptly demonstrates your writing style. Your pitch should also tell us which section or department of Park City Magazine you think your story might be appropriate for.
E-mail is the best way to submit your proposals. Please type “Freelance Submission” into the subject line and send it to: [email protected]
