Deer Valley East Village

Would you believe the first public Alpine ski village to be developed in North America in over 40 years is in Park City? It’s true, and it’s already well underway at Deer Valley East Village. This landmark development marks the largest resort expansion in ski industry history, adding 3,700 acres of ski-only terrain, 135 new ski runs, 16 state-of-the-art lifts, and a 10-passenger gondola. The pedestrian-oriented village will feature 42 curated shops, 32 dining destinations, and eight hotels upon completion. Some facilities are already open, including the Grand Hyatt Deer Valley hotel and multiple chairlifts. Here’s what to look forward to in the coming months and years.

East Village Express Gondola

While the overall expansion won’t be completed until 2028, you can expect big changes for this ski season with the opening of seven new chairlifts and a gondola. East Village Express will be a 10-passenger gondola and will link the East Village to Park Peak on a 15-minute, three-mile ride. It will also feature luxurious amenities, including heated seats and floor-to-ceiling windows.

Park Peak Lodge

At the top of the new gondola this winter, you’ll see construction on Park Peak Lodge, a mountaintop gathering space that will open its first floor for the 2026–27 winter season. Deer Valley’s senior director of mountain operations, Garrett Lang, says you’ll be able to ski from this lodge to the East Village and access 60 miles of surrounding biking and hiking trails in the summer upon its completion. Restrooms and food and beverage venues will be located on levels one and two. Fun fact: Gondola cabins will be “tucked in for the night” and stored underneath the lodge to protect them from weather.

Pinyon Express

Beginners will love the new Pinyon Express, a lift linking Deer Valley’s existing terrain on Flagstaff Mountain with new beginner-friendly trails near Park Peak. Enjoy comfortable six-passenger bubble chairs with heated seats, ensuring a pleasant ride in various weather conditions.

East Village Lodge

In the heart of the East Village, construction on Deer Valley East Village Lodge has begun. This 88,000-square-foot, four-story facility is slated to welcome guests for the 2027–28 ski season and will feature restaurants, ski rentals, retail, guest services, lockers, ski school, and a state-of-the-art clinic. The Ski School lobby will open directly onto the ski beach, providing easy snow access.

Sprung Structure

While the East Village Lodge is under construction, a temporary Sprung Structure serves as a gathering place for those skiing from the East Village. This 8,000-square-foot building features food and beverage outlets, dining areas, patios, bathrooms, ski patrol facilities, and secure ski storage.

Grand Hyatt Deer Valley

New Hotels

Many of the East Village’s eight hotels are under, or soon to be under, construction. The first hotel to open, Grand Hyatt Deer Valley, debuted last season but has new ski-season amenities to introduce, including evening s’mores and a weekend après-ski event with a heated outdoor bar and DJs. On the luxury front, the Four Seasons Resort and Private Residences Deer Valley will include 134 guest rooms and suites, plus 123 one- to six-bedroom private residences—all with ski-in/ski-out mountain access, four dining facilities, and state-of-the-art wellness and fitness facilities. A 180-room Canopy by Hilton is set to open next summer. It will offer ski-in/ski-out access, curated cuisine, a rooftop lounge, and wellness facilities.
