Nordic-style wellness is trending, and Park City is getting in on the action by opening its own contrast-therapy bathhouses. Use this guide to find your next local sauna hot spot.
Avanto Cold Plunge & Sauna
Kimball Junction
At this indoor sauna experience, guests can do as many “rounds” as they like, alternating between the Nordic dry sauna (set to about 195 degrees) and two cold-plunge pools at 40 and 50 degrees. Complimentary towels, water, electrolytes, and tea are provided. Book a single session, buy a punch pass, or get an unlimited monthly pass.
Plunj Park City
Park City
If you’re looking for a communal contrast therapy space, Plunj is your vibe. The dry sauna is heated by an electric stove, allowing guests to pour water on top to create steam, and it includes a four-person cold-plunge pool and a rest area. Most guests start in the sauna for 10 to 15 minutes, rinse off with a warm bucket shower, spend up to 5 minutes in the cold pool, and then rest before repeating.
SaunaWild
heber valley
Mobile, Nordic barrel sauna and cold plunge can be delivered to your event space, outdoorsy location, or Airbnb, offering the ultimate private experience. Finnish sauna hats, aromatherapy essential oils, and towels are included.

Soho Saunas

Experience a Japanese onsen without leaving Utah. Owner Shane Inouye-Petersen was born and raised in Japan and wanted to bring this authentic Japanese onsen-inspired experience to Utah. Soho features Japanese mineral hot springs, an outdoor cold plunge, two barrel saunas, and an outdoor shower—all with mountain views. The experience goes beyond traditional contrast therapy, embracing the Japanese philosophy of cleansing and meditation. “It may look similar on the surface—hot, cold, sauna—but the intention behind it is completely different,” says Inouye-Petersen. “Ours is more meditative, more respectful, and more focused on true mental and physical reset.” Guests reserve a session online and check in with Inouye-Petersen, who explains the space and provides towels and sauna hats. A Japanese restaurant will be added soon.
Wasatch Mountain Sauna

At this fully automated sauna in Wasatch Mountain State Park, guests book online, receive a unique access code, and have the whole experience to themselves. Features include a custom-built Nordic cedar cabin with an electric heater, two outdoor cold plunges, and a copper shower. Owner Daniel Pepper says, “The concept is inspired by the Nordic tradition of moving between intense heat and cold water in nature, and Utah’s state parks give you that setting without having to fly to Scandinavia.”
