While the resorts’ avalanche search-and-rescue dogs are among Park City’s highest-profile—and hardest-working—canine employees, plenty of others are workin’ for a livin’ at local businesses. One even has her own YouTube channel.
The super-sweet, one-year-old Bernese mountain dog Montreux is the Montage Deer Valley’s (9100 Marsac Ave, 435.604.1300) newest canine ambassador. Meet him every day in the hotel lobby, year-round, at 11 a.m. and 3 p.m.
Black lab Hoss and snowy-white Stormy, a Shiba Inu, are the yin and yang at Storm Cycles (1764 Uinta Way, 435.200.9120). Thirteen-year-old Hoss greets customers at the door, always on the lookout for a treat, while the shier Stormy appreciates a slower approach.
Likely Park City’s most beloved shop pooches are the bulldogs at Silver Star Ski & Sport (1825 Three Kings Dr, 435.645.7827). Nine-year-old Tallulah, a.k.a. Potato, has been known to sleep and party on the job. Shop-dog-in-training Azalea joined the crew last summer and is quickly learning the ropes. Sadly, the Silver Star’s original mascot, Vidalia, passed away in 2016.
Seven-year-old Jack Russell terrier Lily is photographer Ross Downard’s right-hand gal in adventure. She logs more than 600 singletrack miles per year chasing Downard on his mountain bike and during hangouts on the riverbank while Downard casts for trout. See Lily in action on YouTube at Lily Shreds 2.0.
