Soldier Hollow Classic Sheepdog Championship & Festival
The pernicious myth that cats are smarter than dogs is shattered on an annual basis during the Soldier Hollow Classic Sheepdog Championship & Festival (Aug 31–Sept 3, 2002 Soldier Hollow Ln, Midway). Agility demos, splash dogs, food, live music, kids’ activities, and, of course, a world-class herding dog competition are weekend highlights. But please leave your own dog at home—this event is for the pros only.
Howl-O-Ween Dog Parade
Park City’s affection for its canine citizens is on full display every October 31 during the Howl-O-Ween dog parade on lower Main Street. Dress your dog as a doughnut, ballerina, cowboy, etc., and be on the lower Main pedestrian bridge by 4:45 p.m. The parade begins at 5 p.m. sharp and travels to Heber Avenue. (Note: Main Street merchants open their doors to human trick-or-treaters prior to the parade at 3 p.m.)
