Start a Park City Yoga Practice

Snowshoeing to yoga in a yurt with Park City Yoga Adventures
Peeling off your ski boots and hunkering down with your sliding posse for an adult beverage is a time-honored way to end a satisfying day on the slopes. But if you’re looking to minimize soreness, rise early the next morning ready to hit the slopes again, and maintain a positive mindset, we recommend a yoga sesh post-powder rather than a second hot toddy. The following are a handful of local studios and guides to help you stay centered, long, and strong all winter long:

Pure joy best describes the vibe inside PC Yoga Collective’s cozy studio in Redstone Plaza (1154 Center Dr, Ste D210). PCYC spans two yoga rooms, each decorated with twinkle lighting and beautiful murals. One is for hot yoga—the only hot yoga studio in Park City that uses radiant heat—and in the smaller space, called the B-Side, various modalities of non-heated yoga are taught. The drop-in rate is $15; mat and props are included.
Tucked into Old Town, next to the Park City Library, is The Shop Yoga Studio (1167 Woodside Ave), named for the building’s original use as Park City High School’s auto shop. This beautifully restored building features an open-concept, light-filled space where a staff of mostly longtime, dedicated instructors teach yoga in a variety of lineages. Single classes are $20 and include the use of a mat and props.
For a truly unforgettable experience that’s equal parts yoga and nature bathing, book an excursion with Park City Yoga Adventures. You’ll begin with a snowshoe hike through dreamy winter forests at Wasatch Mountain State Park. A fun and relaxing yoga session follows, held in a yurt or atop floating mats in the surreal Homestead Crater hot spring. All trips are customizable; reservations are required.
The Spa at Stein Eriksen Lodge (7700 Stein Way) is not a yoga studio per se, but multiple yoga classes are taught there every week, including the luxuriant Candlelit Vinyasa. This breathe-to-movement practice is held every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday afternoon in the spa’s lovely Verdandi Wellness Studio, lit for the occasion by soft candlelight. Yoga classes are complimentary to Stein Eriksen Lodge guests and $25 for non-guests.
Sound baths, guided meditation, weekly yoga classes, and many more mindfulness- and wellness-based classes and experiences are what you’ll find at the serene and soulful Shamanic Twist Wellness Center & Studio (228 W 200 South), located in charming downtown Kamas. The cost is $15 for yoga classes and sound baths; mat and props included.
