Bask in the sheer freedom to ski and snowboard whatever you want, and take advantage of an opportunity to relax. A hot toddy by the fire at St. Regis Deer Valley, Stein Eriksen Lodge, or the Waldorf Astoria is time well spent between runs (or—oh, blasphemy—without the skiing altogether). If you can comfortably silence that cell phone, consider preempting that glamourous fireside session with a spa treatment while you’re lounging chez swanky hotels (you’re still a snowball’s throw away from the slopes, if the kids need you). For early après, cozy up in the Montage’s posh Après Lounge with a flute of Veuve Clicquot and nibbles—perhaps cheese and charcuterie—in the ski-in/ski-out Bavaria-meets-LA yurt. Space is limited to 30, so arrive right at noon to secure a spot (yurt is open until 4 p.m.). Or snag a sunny seat on Snow Park Lodge’s upper deck, preferably when there’s a band playing, and savor a Champion margarita and turkey chili nachos while watching ski schoolers on Wide West. At Park City Mountain, sidle up to the bar at Mid Mountain Lodge before making those final runs of the day, or sample some delicious Rendezvous Rye—along with eats—at High West Saloon (703 Park Ave, 435.649.8300, highwest.com), accessed via Quit’N Time run.
