From April 29 to May 28, the Kimball Art Center's main gallery will be home to the work of emerging K-12 artists from Wasatch and Summit County during the Wasatch Back Student Art Show, including participants of the Kimball Art Center's Young Artists' Academy (YAA). The theme for this year's show, "A Closer Look," is reflected in all the students' works, whether it be literal, metaphorical, or symbolic. 

"Our local student artists never cease to amaze me with their creative expression especially when we create complex themes like the one selected this year," said Nancy Stoaks, Kimball Art Center exhibitions director. "It’s incredibly rewarding to work with student artists because I know it ensures we will continue to grow our thriving art community with young talent, fresh perspectives, and new ideas.” Take a quick sneak peak at the pieces included in the show in this video.

This year, participants also have the chance to see what it's like to be a professional artist. They'll have the opportunity to sell their work during the exhibition and split the proceeds with the Kimball Art Center. Come and see what happens when you take stop to experience something more in depth and discover details you may never noticed before. Maybe you'll even pick up a piece from the next Picasso.
