LIVE IN Taylorsville OCCUPATIONS She’s an inventory controller at J. Brooks Jewelers; he’s a manager at Vision Works. HOW THEY MET They work next door to each other. After months of flirting back and forth, he finally asked her out to dinner. HOW THEY GOT ENGAGED He took her to Bridal Veil Falls in Provo Canyon and, as they got to the base of the falls, he asked her to take a picture of him; then he got down on one knee and asked her to marry him with a shoestring. Later, she went on a scavenger hunt to find her engagement ring. WEDDING STYLE Classic and romantic NUMBER OF GUESTS 100 for the ceremony; 300 for the reception WEDDING TIME 4 p.m. WEDDING WEATHER Cloudy and slightly raining FAVORITE CEREMONY MOMENT He surprised her with a diamond band after the rings had already been exchanged. She was so excited, she started jumping up and down. FLOWERS Mostly roses in a desert sand hue, which fit perfectly with the venue’s canyon setting. MENU A buffet-style dinner: sautéed chicken breast with lemon-caper garlic butter; sliced New York strip steak; fingerling potatoes; baked brie in pastry; grilled vegetable platter; cheese plate; seasonal fruit; and fresh-baked breads DESSERT A three-tier cake with ombré frosting featuring pumpkin, chocolate, and vanilla flavors, all of which were to die for. She surprised him with a dirt bike-themed groom’s cake.
