LIVE IN Provo OCCUPATIONS She works at a start-up doing PR; he is a student at BYU. HOW THEY MET Her family spends the summer at a lake in New Hampshire and, one summer, he came to visit their neighbors at the lake. They formed a friendship and, a couple of years later, their paths crossed in Utah Valley, where they were both going to college, and they started dating. HOW THEY GOT ENGAGED While on a flight to visit her parents for Thanksgiving, he sang Adam Sandler’s song “I Wanna Grow Old With You” over the intercom and got down on one knee. Everyone on the plane cheered. NUMBER OF GUESTS 450 WEDDING INSPIRATION The mountains HOW THEY MADE THE DAY THEIR OWN Skiing is a big sport in both of their families; she grew up skiing at Alta, and he grew up skiing for the aerial US Ski Team and was one of the Flying Ace All Stars at the Park City Olympic Park. They had their rehearsal dinner at the Olympic Park and hired the current Flying Ace All Stars to put on a show for everyone. At their reception, guests signed a pair of vintage skis in place of a traditional guest book. FAMILY ELEMENT The bride was very close to both of her grandmothers, who had passed away, so to include them in the day, she attached two small photos of them to the ribbons wrapped around her bouquet. MENU Her grandmother’s salad recipe, steak, salmon, and potatoes DESSERT They cut into a tiered cake, but they served individual ice cream cakes and set up a doughnut bar. FAVORS Lemon cookies with their wedding logo on the icing and a tag that read, “Stay Sweet,” a phrase he would always say to her when dating.
