LIVE IN Austin, Texas OCCUPATIONS She works in quality assurance; he works in robotic medical sales. HOW THEY MET At a mutual friend’s party in Minneapolis. He had sent her a message on Match.com a month prior, but she hadn’t responded to it. Thanks to plenty of wine, they brushed off any embarrassment. They became friends and started dating a year later. Shortly after, he moved toAustin for a job, and six months later she joined him. WHERE THEY GOT ENGAGED While hiking in a field of blue bonnets and climbing the huge rock dome at Enchanted Rock State Natural Area WHY THEY WED IN UTAH She’s from the Midwest and he’s from the South, so they wanted to find somewhere in the middle to bring their families and friends together. The Natural History Museum of Utah offered everything they wanted: modern design; located near the mountains; reasonable travel distance; had a unique attribute—in this case a dinosaur collection (the groom and groomsmen wore dinosaur socks as a special touch). WEDDING STYLE Modern meets nature NUMBER OF GUESTS 86 CULTURAL ELEMENTS During her father’s toast, guests received small glasses of  ouzo and/or sambuca as a nod to her Greek and Italian heritage. MENU A family-style feast of locally sourced dishes, including charcuterie, Snuck Farms salad, heirloom carrot sourdough, Rocky Mountain red trout, roasted vegetable napoleon, cabernet-braised short ribs, brown-butter and sage gnocchi with chanterelles and corn DESSERT Almond wedding cake, sweet potato and pecan cake, and a local chocolate tasting paired with tawny port FAVORS Custom temporary tattoos of the couple’s faces, mugs, and welcome bags filled with local goodies THE DAY IN THREE WORDS Modern, natural, joyful HONEYMOON Greece

We are active, outdoorsy nerds with an appreciation for minimalism—which sums up why the NHMU was the perfect venue for us. —Marie
