From the Runway: THEIA Spring 2016 Bridal Collection
Spring Bridal Market is underway in New York City, and the runway images are rolling in! We've got your first look at the new bridal collections---get ready to find your next wedding gown crush.
First up, we're sharing snapshots from THEIA. Inspired by the whimsical Art Nouveau illustrations of Danish artist Kay Rasmus Nielsen (he illustrated books such as "Fairy Tales by Hans Christian Anderson" and "Hansel and Gretel"), the fashion-forward label presented a mix of modern, organic, and wildly beautiful wedding gowns for spring 2016. A magical, moody fairytale collection fit for a Victorian princess.
Models styled with voluminous, hot-roller-esque updos showed off 20 unique big-day styles, from fancy crop tops with coordinating skirts (and one bra top with slick slacks and a sheer sleeveless collared shirt) to dresses adorned with delicate high lace necklines, skirts splashed with pearly gray hues, and sheer, open, and embroidered backs.
Stand-outs include AURORA, a butterfly embroidered silk organza ball skirt with strapless crop top; FAE, a pastel floral printed silk chiffon gown; BELLE, an ivory silk chiffon gown with Chantilly lace bodice and sleeves; GISELLE, an ivory crepe sheath gown with hand embroidered illusion back (we also love the simple yet striking white cherry blossom bouquet); and ELLEN, a crisp pearl-white trouser suit—DeGeneres would surely approve.
