Real Utah Wedding: A Winter Elopement in Zion National Park

By Tessa Woolf March 25, 2015

When most people think of Utah's winter landscape, they picture majestic mountains dusted powder-white. But it was snow-capped red rocks, not peaks, that provided the stunning backdrop for destination couple Naomi and Jeremy's intimate January elopement at Zion National Park. The duo traveled from Canada to tie the knot among the park's otherworldly natural beauty. They chose to get hitched sans a crowd, but they hired St. George-based photographer Tyler Rye to capture the big (small) day. See their photos below and read on for more info about the newlyweds and why they picked Zion as "the place" to elope.

THE BRIDE & GROOM Naomi Wharrick & Jeremy Sparks WEDDING DATE January 5, 2015 LIVE IN Edmonton, Alberta, Canada WHY THEY CHOSE TO ELOPE Because they wanted to savor every moment of the day between the two of them and focus on each other. WHY THEY CHOSE ZION NATIONAL PARK It had been on their list of places to visit, and when they were thinking of destinations to elope Zion was suggested and seemed perfect. It was the most beautiful setting and they couldn't have chosen a better location. THEIR ADVICE TO OTHER COUPLES WHO WANT TO ELOPE Do it! It was a fantastic day and so amazing to share it just with each other. And there was no stress with the planning. Also, hire a great photographer to document the day—their families were thrilled to see these incredible photos and they are something the bride and groom will have forever.

Congrats Naomi & Jeremy!
