In Memory: Andi Saxton of Sego Floral

By Tessa Woolf March 12, 2015

My heart is heavy today after hearing that we lost a member of our local wedding community: Andi Saxton of Sego Floral.

We had the privilege of working with Andi and featuring her beautiful, lively, and romantic floral and event designs in the pages of our magazine and on our website. Though I mostly knew Andi professionally, her warmth, laughter, and ever-present smile made her feel like an instant friend the first time I met her.

At a photo shoot a couple of years ago, I asked Andi why she chose the name "Sego" for her company. She explained that not only is the Sego Lily the state flower of Utah, but the bloom was also considered a symbol of peace and hope during World War I and II. Today, that symbolism is not lost on me.

What I cherish most about my work is having the great opportunity to meet and collaborate with incredible women throughout Utah. These women never cease to amaze and inspire me with their talent, creativity, energy, and spirit. It is an honor to know them. Andi was one of these women. She will be missed.

Thank you for making our lives and our state a little more lovely, Andi.
