Real Utah Wedding: Julie & Brenner's Downtown SLC Elopement

By Tessa Woolf February 13, 2015

Confession: We're suckers for elopements. We know, we know, we're in the business of weddings, but what can we say? There's something so romantic about throwing convention to the wind, ditching your big-day plans, and running down to the courthouse (or hopping on a plane for a remote tropical island) to tie the knot with your beloved. Correction: We're suckers for romance. And what better way to get in the Valentine's Day spirit than with a good 'ol fashioned, romantic elopement?

Local couple Julie and Brenner exchanged vows and rings on a wintery day (remember that stuff called snow?) at the Salt Lake City and County Building, smack dab in the middle of downtown SLC. "We chose the courthouse because of it's vintage appeal," says Julie. "We liked that it was a historical building with character in the heart of the city." That, and, as Julie happily notes, she and Brenner had a bun in the oven, so they liked the idea of a low-key, love-filled courthouse wedding.

Friends and family—including some very adorable flower girls—joined the bride and groom to witness the I do's. The bride rocked a boho-chic frock, wore flowers in her hair, and carried a bouquet of richly hued blooms. Photographer Lindsey Shaun captured the heartfelt ceremony. Below, take a peek at the couple's photo album and fall in love with this sweet twosome threesome.

Congrats, Julie and Brenner!

Wishing you and yours a happy Valentine's Day. xo
