Rose Waters & Pink Salt Inspiration Shoot, part I

By Tessa Woolf October 31, 2014

There's a stark, strange beauty to Utah's Great Salt Lake and Salt Flats. The local waters and salty shores set the scene for this hauntingly gorgeous bridal shoot by Soil & Stem and Evelyn Eslava Photography. The dramatic landscape, soft light at sunset, and a wash of pastel hues create a dreamy, otherworldly setting featuring rose waters, pink salt, and wildly romantic blooms.

Nicole Land of Soil & Stem shares her poetic inspiration for the shoot:

Surrounded in rosy pastels and swallowed by the stillness of the air, this land seemed bizarre and unreal. What was once an inland sea is now an inhospitable salt-covered desert. So much salt has dissolved in Utah's Great Salt Lake that its edges are encrusted with crystals that sparkle against a treeless landscape and vast sky. It was this dusty pink hue of the salted earth that became the inspiration behind our styling

The bride's bouquet is composed of dreamy garden roses including Romantic Antike, Chippendale garden spray roses, and the David Austin Juliet. Other stems include Cafe au Lait dahlias, astilbe, thistle, and delphinium. A cascading flower halo and handcrafted veil adorned our bride for an ethereal look as she wanders the lakeshores.

We'll be featuring part II of this gorgeous shoot next week!

Thank you Nicole and Evelyn for sharing these breathtakingly beautiful photos with us.
