WHAT: It was a sad day in the Land of Weddings when we heard the news that downtown boutique Lily & Iris was closing its doors and taking a break from the business of bridesmaids. (Cue the Kleenex)

But here's the silver lining: This weekend, for one day only, the shop is hosting a closing sale. All remaining inventory of dresses---think bridesmaid styles, cocktail frocks, LBDs, and LWDs---will be on sale for $30-50. Modern accessories including fashion jewelry and clutches will be just $3 a pop. And the shop's contemporary all-white furniture and fixtures will also be on sale with prices starting at $25.
