Heart of Gold: Geometrics & Glitter Styled Wedding Shoot

By Tessa Woolf June 18, 2014

Geometrics and heart motifs are popping up all over the design and fashion worlds, and we couldn't be happier. What's not to love about playful patterns and sweet symbols of love? The team at Scenemakers drew inspiration from the fun, youthful spirit of geometrics and hearts to design this vibrant styled shoot featuring bold pops of color, gold, and glitter. The theme is perfect for sunny summer weddings, but would also work well for nuptials near Valentine's Day.

Below, check out images by Jessica Peterson Photography from the styled shoot, which took place at the hip and versatile Tasting Room in downtown Salt Lake City. Read on for more details about the geometric + heart theme, plus a list of local vendors.

Scenemakers' Allie Kesler-Couch shares more details about the geometric heart-themed shoot:

This shoot played off the geometrics theme that is quite popular in the world of design right now. The shoot's palette is bold and gold details are incorporated throughout. The theme was well matched with invitation artist Lauren Brady of Saucy & Kitsch for The Write Image. When I described the theme to her (and my new obsession with geometric hearts), she produced the most special and custom invitation suite for us—complete with a big geometric heart on the main invite. I died of joy when I saw this one!

Our stunning model, Michelle, wore an Alta Moda gem: a Hayley Paige ball gown. The dress was unbelievable, with a full skirt in layers of subtly striped, structured material. Soula Christopulos nailed the hair and makeup, creating a look that struck a balance between being fun and wedding appropriate. Culinary Crafts outdid themselves with a totally unique and intriguing menu—one that everyone eagerly indulged in after the shoot!

The menu created by Culinary Crafts included the following tasty items:

1st Course

Spring sweet pea and pesto risotto topped with tiny asparagus spears, a fried quail egg, and shaved Parmesan;

black pepper brioche

Dessert

Mini pear-vanilla bundt cakes topped with Meyer lemon whipped curd with a slice of whole dehydrated pear and candied lemon zest

Drinks

Thyme raspberry cream soda with floating raspberries and a sprig of thyme;

petite cups of coffee

Thank you for sharing this styled shoot with us, Scenemakers and all the talented local vendors involved!
