From the Runway: Vera Wang Spring 2015 Bridal Collection

By Tessa Woolf April 14, 2014

"Lightness of being. Delicate and disciplined. Sensual and seductive." This is how designer Vera Wang describes her Spring 2015 bridal collection, which debuted at New York Bridal Market over the weekend.

Our take: The collection calls to mind the lightness, delicacy, and sensuality of ballerinas---but these wedding dresses are more Black Swan than Sleeping Beauty. There's an elegant grunge to some of the styles: polished and pretty yet rebellious and rock 'n roll-like. Take, for example, Wang's version of bridal separates: an ivory strapless bra decorated with hand-draped tulle and organza flowers paired with a voluminous ivory tulle ball gown skirt.

And then there are the "love" and "us" tattoos temporarily inked on models' arms, hands, and necks in a romantic black script. If this is Wang's interpretation of brides behaving badly, we say being bad never looked so good.

But wait, there's more!

Wang teamed up with director Gordon von Steiner to create a short film for the debut of her new bridal collection. Check the flick below.
