1. Organic & Glam 

Imagining an intimate, urban dinner party in SLC or Park City, Mara Harwood of Events by LMG designed this organic yet glamorous tablescape. To marry the two different styles, she steered clear of blingy rhinestones and sequins, and instead focused on quietly elegant details—gold Chiavari chairs, silky rosette chair covers, luxe linens—combined with bold natural accents such as branches, architectural blooms, and air plants. “I’m always a fan of unexpected design elements,” says Harwood.

To get started, she chose a graphic, hummus-hued table linen and a palette of purple colors ranging from eggplant to blush. “Two-color palettes are over,” she says. “Focus on tones instead.” Harwood called upon florist Shelly Huynh to create a striking juniper branch chandelier decorated with succulents and telanzia. For the centerpiece, the ladies topped an antiqued mirror stand with single-bud vases of calla lilies—which double as guest favors—intertwined with clematis. Continuing the botanical theme, succulent-like patterns decorate custom, gilded paper goods, and a couture cake combines tiers of buttercream and fondant rosettes topped with a painted gold branch.

2. Neon & Neutral 

“I love incorporating fashion trends into weddings,” says Julie Hinton of Middle Aisle Events, who took a page from glossy magazines when she designed this neon-themed tablescape. Bright colors are fun in theory, but they can be overwhelming in real life. Hinton's trick for making them big-day appropriate? Team eye-popping hues with neutrals to tone down their vibrant nature and create a polished look. “Neons are loud and animated, but they can be sophisticated when paired with the right neutrals,” she explains.

In this case, she set the stage with a sequined, sand-hued table linen, acrylic chairs, simple dishware, and whimsical black accents including elephant-shaped place card holders. Textural floral centerpieces in shades of yellow, orange, and pink provide bold pops of color. Punchy, geometrical details—a handmade hexagon backdrop, graphic paper goods, and a square fondant cake—lend a playful touch. "Neon is a great palette for couples who are a little quirky. This table design is for couples who like to have a good time and aren't afraid to stand out."
