WHAT: Big-name retailers and department stores aren't the only ones offering Black Friday and Shop Local Saturday deals. Local bridal boutiques are getting in on the post-Thanksgiving, pre-Christmas sale action, too. (We'll be posting a number of sales over the next couple of weeks, so be sure to check back for updates and details!)

This weekend, Salt Lake City's The Brides' Shop is hosting a Shop Local Saturday Sample Sale. During this end-of-year event, designer wedding gowns from 2013 collections will be drastically discounted to make room for next season's sample dresses. Bridal styles start at $199, sample accessories are marked down by 80 percent, and bridesmaid dresses and formal wear are being offered for as little as $10. On Saturday only, discounted dresses will be marked down an additional $100.

Designers on sale include Sarah Seven (pictured above), Intuzuri, Pronovias, Justin Alexander, Robert Bullock, Lis Simon, Alva, Allure, Mia Solano, Dessy, Mori Lee, Angelina Faccenda, and styles from The Brides' Shop private label.
