The refined Virgo Sun is the dominant sign this September backed by its ruler, Mercury, also in Virgo. Brides and grooms getting married this month can be in tune with the stars by using a rich and earthy wedding color palette with burgundies, bronzes, coppers, and dark greens—especially for those weddings taking place after September 10 when Venus, planet of love and beauty, moves into the complimentary and wealthy Scorpio.

Virgo is the pickiest and most refined sign but has a practical and earthy bent. The slightly snobby yet modest Virgo really has a heart of gold and will be the first to help out in a pinch. Couples getting married this month may find themselves often in the service of friends and family, and will be known for their impeccable taste. After all, Virgo may be the strongest sign in the fashion industry: Tom Ford, Stella McCartney, and Rachel Zoe are all Virgos, to name a few of these neurotic perfectionists (I can say that because I’m one of them).
