Up, Up & Away: Whimsical Bridal Shower by Decoration Inc.

By Tessa Woolf July 11, 2013

Inspiration can appear in the most random of moments and places: While grocery shopping at Harmons, while roasting marshmallows in the Uintas, while listening to KRCL as you drive along I-80. For Amanda Hansen, owner of Salt Lake City's Decoration Inc., inspiration for a bridal shower came while she was seated in Capitol Theater enjoying Ballet West's production of "Don Quixote." Hansen found herself captivated by the ballet's flamenco-stye dancing and vibrant red and lavender costumes with gold accents.

The performance's Spanish flair and bold color palette proved the perfect inspiration for a colorful and whimsical summer bridal shower. For the backyard celebration, Hansen combined banquet tables and gold Chiavari chairs to create a regal setting. She topped the tables with lavender linens, sequined chevron runners, gold flatware, and a variety of vases filled with orchids, dinner plate dahlias, anemones, and roses. Large gold, red, and lavender balloons tied with ribbons floated cheerfully above the tablescape. For a sweet finish, Hansen chose a delicate petal-style cake in ombre lavender.
