Nautical by Nature: Seersucker Wedding Style & Decor
Temperatures in Utah are off the charts this summer--along with popsicle sales, air conditioning bills, and hours logged poolside. When the heat is on (and circumstances call for something other than bikinis and flip-flops), we reach for seersucker. The striped cotton fabric is our best friend when it comes to warm-weather wardrobes and warm-weather weddings: It's lightweight, easy to wear, breathable, quick-drying, and wrinkle-resistant. Seersucker suits are a smart choice for grooms and groomsmen, but brides and bridesmaids can get in on the fashion action with seersucker dresses and skirts. And the fabric goes beyond attire--we love seersucker invitations, table linens, and favor labels and tags.

Seersucker is a natural fit for nautical-themed weddings (we may not live near the ocean, but Bear Lake makes a suitable substitute for a by-the-sea setting), and it's preppy appeal makes it a perfect style choice for country club soirees at venues such as Willow Creek or Park Meadows. Seersucker can also read casual and cool, ideal for backyard shindigs and urban celebration at locations such as Fresco's or The Rose Establishment.
