Sweet Read: "Wedding Dogs--A Celebration of Holy Mutrimony"

By Tessa Woolf April 16, 2013

Move over best man (and maid of honor), today's grooms (and brides) have a new sidekick by their side on the big day: man's (and women's) best friend. For many modern couples, incorporating their beloved Fido in their wedding festivities is a must. After all, many pooches are as much--if not more--a part of the family as your second cousin or great uncle. In their new book Wedding Dogs: A Celebration of Holy Mutrimony, authors Katie Preston Toepfer and Sam Stall honor the special relationship between man, woman, and dog, and exlpore this heartwarming wedding trend.

Whether serving as ring bearer, flower girl, best man, or maid of honor, the pups profiled in the pages of Wedding Dogs were happy to help their humans celebrate--and ham it up for the camera. Take a peek at some of our favorite snapshots in the book, from Boston, a Maltese-poodle mix looking dapper in a bow tie, to Brutus, an English bulldog decked out in a tiny tuxedo and top hat:
