Romantic Comedy: Jorden + Jason's Engagement Shoot by Jacque Lynn Photography

By Tessa Woolf April 26, 2013

We're taking a break from our Bridal Market coverage today to share an entertaining engagement shoot by Jacque Lynn Photography. Local couple Jorden Saxton and Jason Hackney--she's an actress, he's an actor and mountain guide--first met in the the theater department at the University of Utah. ("During the first week of school, Jason's 6'3" self rode up to me on a kid's bike and that was it!" says Jorden.) In true actor fashion, the couple brought along plenty of props for their engagement shoot, from an apple and bow and arrow to recreate the legendary William Tell apple-shot, to shiny toy guns to play out scenes from one of their favorite movies, "Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid." Check out their fun photos and read on for more details from Jorden!

Jorden shares more of the couple's inspiration for their engagement shoot:

The ultimate goal of our engagement session was to get our friends and families to laugh! As actors we love to tell stories and are not shy of anything "theatrical." Jason's grandma was a world champion on the English longbow, which has influenced his life-long love for archery--the inspiration for the "William Tell" photos. Also, "Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid" is one of our favorite films, and being outlaws by nature anyway, the "gunslinger" shots were sure to get a laugh. Our amazing photographer, Jacque, took our ideas and ran with them! Some of the best shots were her ideas! We really just wanted to have fun and do something different.

Jorden and Jason are getting hitched this June. Congrats you two!

Thank you Jacque, Jorden, and Jason for sharing this engagement session with us today!
