Modern Glamour: Styled Bridal Shoot by Riehl Events | Alex Adams Photography

By Tessa Woolf March 8, 2013

If figure-hugging frocks, polished orchid bouquets, and bold red lipstick make your heart beat faster, then today's styled bridal shoot by Riehl Events is right up your alley. Riehl Events' owner Jacque Riehl teamed up with Alex Adams Photography, Alta Moda Bridal, and Versa Artistry for a modern, glamorous photo shoot at the Main Library in downtown Salt Lake City. The library's clean lines and architectural elegance--designed by internationally acclaimed architect Moshie Safdie--added to the shoot's drama.

Jacque Riehl shares her inspiration for the photo shoot:

The inspiration for the shoot was simply glamour: Glamour in a modern element; glamour in eras gone by; glamour in simple, sweeping spaces and materials; glamour in the nature that surrounds us; glamour in a beautiful young bride surrounding herself with things she loves. 'Hollywood Regency' is a direction that we at Riehl Events have seen emerging for awhile now. I have always been inspired by the looks of Marilyn Monroe, Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis, and other glamorous heroines of the past. There is something to be said about using new and modern elements mixed with sentimental touches.

Photographer Alex Adams shares her impressions of the photo shoot and details about the model's dress, hair, and makuep:

I was really drawn to the glamorous, Old Hollywood elements in Jacque's design. When I think of glamour, I think of the actresses in the '40s and '50s--they had compelling charm and grace but were incredibly romantic and alluring. For our model, we chose a soft wave updo and bright red lips to mimic the look you would find on women in Old Hollywood. The beautiful Monique Lhuillier wedding gown has a lot of evening gown elements in its design, from the cutout back to the beaded criss-cross straps. I felt like you could have transported the model to a party 70 years ago and she would have fit right in. Her gold cocktail ring, her OMG heels, and her understated bouquet added to this sense, as well.

Thank you Jacque and Alex for sharing this glam bridal shoot with us today! Have a wonderful weekend, friends!
