Dress Whites: Summer Engagement Shoot by Heather Telford Photography
When the engagement shoot of Salt Lake couple Natalie and Spencer landed in my inbox, courtesy of Heather Telford Photography, the first thing I noticed was the bride-to-be's wardrobe. I love Natalie's breezy white blouse, cropped white jeans, and bright blue flats. The white-on-white ensemble and pop of blue is perfect for an outdoor summer engagement shoot. Wouldn't you agree?

Natalie and Spencer are getting married in just a few days on September 1st in Salt Lake City. Congratulations you two!
Brides- and grooms-to-be, are you having a hard time deciding what to wear for your engagement shoot? Below, photographer Heather Telford shares a few wardrobe tips to ensure you dress the part in front of the camera:
Out are the days of wearing black and khaki, white and jeans, or matching polos. The goal is to complement each other, but not be too "matchy-matchy." Try to avoid big logos on T-shirts, but don't be afraid of colors or patterns. I always tell my clients to have someone stand out and be the "wild card" in the photos. I like including a fun, crazy pattern like an animal or houndstooth print.
It's all in the details--I can't stress this tip enough. Decide your accent color and add that color into your jewelry, shoes, and accessories. Layers and texture look great in photos. Adding a blazer, cardigan, or scarf not only makes your pictures look more complete, but you can drop the layer towards the end of your shoot for a completely different look.
Thank you Heather, Natalie, and Spencer for sharing these photos with us today!
