Happy Friday, bridettes!

Today you are all in for a treat: I have a dreamy bridal shoot at La Caille by Britt Chudleigh of Chudleigh Weddings to share with you. Our featured bride, Katie, has a graceful, ballerina-like beauty, and Britt's soft images perfectly capture Katie and her elegant dress.

Oh, the dress. Katie searchd through showrooms of gowns in three states until she happened upon her perfect dress in Oklahoma City: a Lazaro gown in ivory Alencon lace. The dress features a scalloped v-neckline and low v-back, cap sleeves, and a tiered pleated-tulle sweep train topped with a satin ribbon waist.  In other words, the dress is perfection.

Katie accessorized her bridal ensemble with a vintage crystal necklace purchased at Decade's in Salt Lake City, and a handmade belt and veil (not pictured) that were purchased in--love this--Istanbul, Turkey. Below, Katie shares the story (er, adventure) of how her veil and belt came to be:

I happened upon my veil and belt in Istanbul, Turkey on a Mediterranean cruise with my mother. We had been scheduled to go to Eqypt and were not supposed to be in Istanbul originally but because of tensions in Egypt our cruise was rerouted to Istanbul for two days. Without any set plans, my mother and I decided to spend the first afternoon at the Grand Bazar. We went from shop to shop looking for bridal veils but couldn't find anyone who had them or seemed to understand us. 

Finally, someone pointed us to a store outside the bazar. A woman grabbed us on the way out--she had overheard our conversation with one of the vendors, and promised she had EXACTLY what I was wanting. She took us winding through alley ways and down streets, and then into a large warehouse building which was a wedding dress factory. She let me pick my veil's ivory color and the lace trim. The woman then disappeared and had it sewn for me in less than an hour while my mother and I drank Pepsis and watched the other employees make wedding dresses. On our way out, I spotted a Swarovski crystal appliqué for a wedding dress--they are typically used on bodices, but my mother insisted should could add it to a belt.

Simply lovely. I could stare at these images all day...
