Real Weddings: Stacy + Greg's Rustic Spring Wedding at Log Haven

By Tessa Woolf May 13, 2011

Happy Friday! To jump-start your weekend, I have a sweet wedding from Erin Kate Photography to share with all you lovely readers. The couple, Stacy and Greg, were married at Log Haven in March. They chose natural details and a peach and steel blue color palette for their reception decor. I think Stacy's Anne Barge gown is elegant and beautiful, and I'm craving a slice of cake from Carlucci's after seeing the couple's scrumptious dessert spread.

Below, Stacy shares the details of the duo's love story and big day. Enjoy!

Greg and I met and fell in love while we were both serving in the Air Force at Charleston AFB, South Carolina. Four months after we started dating, we were deployed to different locations and still grew closer every day. The Christmas Eve after we got back from the Middle East he proposed and I accepted!

During the year Greg and I were engaged I perused through an endless supply of bridal magazines, websites, and blogs for ideas that I could make my own. Our first priority was finding a photographer whose style we loved. Erin Kate not only captured moments beautifully, but gave me some ideas during the planning process. When it came to a color scheme, the steel blue color represented our Air Force past and peach was a soft tone to compliment it. Natalie at La Fleur incorporated the colors and natural vibe (we used twine instead of ribbon) into the gorgeous floral arrangements. The logs sections for the cake stands and placecards/favor were prepared by Greg’s parents’ from their property in Washington. I thought the “love birds” and nest cake topper perfectly matched with our rustic spring theme.

Snow started to fall as we enjoyed our guests and delicious meal in the warmth of Log Haven's blazing fireplace. My sister surprised us with a beautiful quilt she handmade. Included in the wrapping was an anonymous quote that echos the message in her toast, “Chains do not hold a marriage together it is threads, hundreds of tiny threads that sew people together through the years.” The moments that made up our wedding day were some of the threads that sewed us all together.

Congratulations Stacy and Greg! Thank you Erin for sharing this real wedding!
