Spring Bridals at the Downtown SLC Library by Kate Osborne Photography

By Tessa Woolf April 11, 2011

Ah, spring weather in Utah...one minute it's warm and sunny, the next minute it's cold, dark, damp and, uh, miserable. (Don't get me wrong, I love snow and skiing and sweaters and hot chocolate, but come April I am over it. Bring on the sun!)

Dressing for spring weather is a challenge: Over-the-knee boots or platform pumps? Wool trousers or silk mini? Puffy coat or classic trench? Spring's dressing dilemma is only more difficult for brides: Open-toe or closed-toe stilettos? Tights or no tights? Shrug or pashmina?

Take a cue from Utah bride Elise: To keep chills at bay yet still look chic for her bridal photos--captured by Kate Osborne Photography--she paired her custom wedding gown with light gray tights and open-toe orange pumps (matching the orange sash on her gown). Comfortable and cute--a perfect combo.

Tights + open-toe pumps would also be a great look for fall brides and spring or fall bridesmaids.

What do you think about pairing tights with open-toe pumps for the big day? What are some of your favorite keep-warm-yet-still-look-stylish wardrobe ideas for spring brides and bridesmaids?
