Revolutionary Ski Film Hits Park City

Matchstick Productions fantasy-based ski film set to premiere in Park City on October 7.

With William Gross September 30, 2016

Matchstick Productions (MSP) has always pushed the limits in ski filmmaking from the classic Ski Movie days featuring the legendary Shane McConkey to the new age with films like Days of My Youth and Superheroes of Stoke.

This year will be no different with their 24th installment Ruin and Rose directed by Ben Sturgulewski — a new addition to MSP's production team in 2016, but a director who left his mark on the ski film community with his groundbreaking film Valhalla.

Ruin and Rose is an uplifting film about joy, creativity, imagination, and hope. For us skiers, being outside in the snow has always inspired those emotions and this film will do the same.

Sturgulewski sums up the film perfectly by saying "We set out to create a bold cinematic experience unlike anything else that ski movie audiences have seen before."

This will be one film that you won't want to miss this fall to get you ready for that powdery winter we are all hoping for. Let's not forget the skiing footage in this film is unmatched with extraordinary performances by MSP veterans Mark Abma, Markus Eder, Sander Hadley, Russ Henshaw, Sean Jordan, Michelle Parker, and Tanner Rainville along with MSP fan favorites Sammy Carlson, Eric Hjorleifson and Cody Townsend.

If you are ass amped as I am to see snow on the peaks this early, then go grab your tickets for the permiere in Park City.

Don't forget to pray for a powder filled winter.
