Psst ... Score Cheaper Travel to SLC

An off-peak jaunt might mean less expensive flights for that ski vacation.

Got a little wiggle room in the ol’ calendar for that next Park City ski getaway (or know someone who does)? Here’s a sneaky good deal, courtesy of the local lodging association: book a three-night stay and fly for free—or at least score $300 off of a Delta Airlines flight into SLC.

“The program was initially created to boost spring visitation,” explains Eric Hoffman of Park City Area Lodging Association (PCALA). “We’ve adopted additional time frames since then to drive destination visitation during slower weeks.” Forget about Christmas, New Year’s, and President’s weeks, in other words, but book during early ski season, late spring, and those in-between weeks and you’re flying high. Of course, the stays must be “qualified”: lodging must be booked directly with a participating property (not via a wholesaler or central reservations), during specific times, and for at least three consecutive nights (with a value of at least $300).

Additional good news for those not-so-early birds who’ve been shut out of the program in the past: thanks to a local grant, the PCALA $300 Airfare Gift Card program (parkcityskibreak.com) has upped its reach from 900 to 1,200 vouchers for its current, fourth season.
