Brunch at Altitude returns to Old Town on Saturday, September 7 with scrumptious bites, sizzling spirit garden, live music, family-friendly games, breakfast-in-bed photo booth, Bloody Mary Smackdown (bartending competition à la “Chopped”), and a silent auction—benefitting the Peace House. Nibbles and Sips

Bike,* walk, Uber, Lyft, or take the free city bus to Marriott’s Summit Watch Plaza (adjacent to Lower Main Street) and revel in the culinary wizardry of local chefs. This year’s smorgasbord represents a diverse selection of Park City’s eateries: Montage, Fuego Bistro and Pizzeria, Mindful Cuisine, The Bridge, Breakfast at Dana’s, Wasatch Bagel & Grill, Courchevel Bistro, Yuta atBlue Sky, and more. Hugo Coffee gets the day going with caffeinated (and decaf) bevvies while 2018’s Bloody Mary Smackdown champ, The Eating Establishment, delivers its award-winning concoction in the Spirit Garden—home to vino, beer, and craft cocktails (sponsored by Waterpocket Distillery). Of Note: This is a family-friendly gathering, so while only the 21+ crowd has access to the Spirit Garden, non-alcoholic beverages are also on hand. 

*Thinking about renting a bike? Silver Star Ski & Sport is offering 20-percent off bike rentals, so brunch goers and cruise the local trails before and after the event. The local shop is also donating 20 percent of those rentals to the Peace House.

Bloody Mary Smackdown 

Witness the creation of the perfect Bloody Mary as local mixologists make a front-and-center run at the Smackdown title. Last year’s race was tight, the showmanship spectacular, and the result, well, delicious. Once again, crowds have a chance to cheer on the winner as he or she endeavors to unseat the 2018 Smackdown champion, The Bloody Mule, created by Anna Turner formerly of the Eating Establishment. The head-to-head, timed competition features a handful of talented bartenders feverishly blending fresh ingredient (provided by Park City Farmers Market), vodka from Dented Brick Distillery, and each mixologist’s own “secret” ingredients and flair. An esteemed panel of local judges determines the winner, who walks away with bragging rights for the year (and promises to share the recipe).

Tunes and Happenings

And should one tire of eating, drinking, and strolling… live entertainment, pop-up shops, photo booth (yes, you can snap a shot of you and your friends toasting “breakfasting in bed,” anywhere in the world) sponsored by St. John's Property Management, and lawn games—cornhole, giant Jenga, and massive checkers—round out the action. Be sure to sidle up to the stage, where local songbird Shannon Runyon, has enlisted a soul-stirring and toe-tapping line-up of acoustic artists, including Brooke Mackintosh, John Sherrill, and Mel Soul.

Giving Back

Bask in a guilt-free brunch indulgence, since all proceeds from the silent auction (and a percentage of the ticket sales) benefit Park City’s Peace House, a local nonprofit dedicated to combatting domestic violence. On Sept. 21, the non-profit will celebrate the grand opening of their new 42,000 square-foot campus, the result of a massive effort and fundraising campaign to not only provide emergency shelter to victims of domestic abuse and their children, but also to offer vital transitional housing and support services to survivors—and education and services to the community at large.
