Skiing with a grumbling stomach is distracting and makes the slopes nothing more than a path to lunch, but a hearty breakfast can lead to an epic morning on the mountain. Here are a few local morning choices that guarantee success on the hill.
Sit and Stay
The Corner Store
1325 Lowell Ave.
Slopeside at Park City Mountain Resort, this place offers a wonderfully convenient location. Try the Southwestern burrito with eggs, pepper jack cheese, chorizo, and avocado for a spicy and filling start to the day.
Squatters
1900 Park Ave.
Perfect for those driving into Park City for the day in need of a big breakfast before hitting the slopes. Squatters’ huevos rancheros are a hit for locals and out-of-towners, loaded with black beans, jack cheese, and smothered in pork chili Colorado.
Deer Valley Grocery~Café
1375 Deer Valley Dr.
If you’re staying in Deer Valley, put your snow boots on and walk a few steps to this casual café serving up the divine food for which Deer Valley is known. Everything on the menu is fantastic; try the "Skiers Breakfast", a skillet baked Heber Valley juustoleipa cheese, creminelli prosciutto, apple fig chutney, toasted housemade baguette, fresh arugula.
The Eating Establishment
317 Main St.
If you want a classic American breakfast, this is a reasonably priced and welcoming place in the heart of Historic Main Street. Try the Miners Dawn, a skillet of seasoned potatoes with fried eggs and cheddar cheese.
Grab and Go
Java Cow
402 Main St
For a quick grab-and-go breakfast, swing by Java Cow for house-made pastries and premium coffee drinks. While all of the pastries are favorites to some, the sticky buns and almond croissants have the most loyal following.
Windy Ridge Bakery
1755 Iron Horse Dr.
Locals in Park City know that Windy Ridge Bakery is the place to pick up high-quality foods without the tourist price tag. Stop in for a bag of scrumptious house-made granola or a slice of quiche to take back for a leisurely breakfast in the condo.
Fairweather Foods
1270 Iron Horse Dr.
For those seeking a quick and healthy breakfast, stop in and grab some wheatgrass juice and a Miracle Muffin, with carrots, apples, nuts, and seeds. While you’re there, you may as well go ahead and take one of their fabulous sandwiches for lunch.
