Guys' Weekend at the Golf Course

Golfing at Victory Ranch
No doubt, hiking and biking are Park City summertime all-stars.
But thanks to plenty of scenic and challenging local golf courses—not
to mention how far a well-hit ball travels at altitude—hitting the links
is just as popular here, especially as the focus of a bros-only weekend.
DO
Jump into your high-altitude weekend on the links with a day-of-arrival twilight tee time at the Park City Golf Club (1541 Thaynes Canyon Dr, parkcity.org). This 18-hole, par 72 course is located smack-dab in Park City proper and features both playable yardages and tight tee shots—in other words, something for all player levels. Take a full day to play the 36-hole Wasatch Mountain State Park’s Lake and Mountain courses (stateparks.utah.gov/golf/wasatch), located in nearby Midway and consistently ranked among the most popular, affordable, and scenic courses in the state. Also in Midway are Soldier Hollow’s Gold and Silver golf courses (1370 W Soldier Hollow Ln, stateparks.utah.gov/golf/soldier-hollow), aptly named for the site’s history as a 2002 Olympic Winter Games Nordic skiing venue. Silver is the tamer of the two tracks and thus a good one to begin your day on; Gold is a championship course with narrower, more undulating fairways and trickier greens. Another appealing nearby option is Park City Mountain Resort’s Canyons Golf (3636 Willow Draw Rd, parkcitymountain.com), an 18-hole, par 70 course located at the resort’s Canyons Village.

Eat
Just off the lobby inside Hotel Park City is Ruth’s Chris Steak House, which, like all inimitable Ruth’s Chris locations worldwide, serves high-quality steaks, fresh seafood, and delicious craft cocktails. Up on Park City’s Historic Main Street, can’t-go-wrong locales for dinner and drinks include High West Saloon (703 Park Ave, highwest.com), The Spur Bar & Grill (352 Main St, thespurbarandgrill.com), and Flanagan’s on Main Irish Pub & Restaurant (438 Main St, flanagansonmain.com). After making the rounds at either of the aforementioned Heber Valley courses, have dinner on the veranda at Café Galleria (101 W Main, Midway, thecafegalleria.com), where the homemade pasta and wood-fired pizzas are to die for.
