Kick off the holiday season with a tree lighting at the Canyons, Electric Parade on Main St., and Recycling with Santa, plus film, live music, and more.

Park City Film: Downton Abbey

A royal visit from the King and Queen of England has Downton Abbey in a tizzy as a whirlwind of scandal, romance, and intrigue descends upon the Crawley family and their beloved staff in this grand feature film. Based on the PBS series that has delighted audiences around the globe, fans and newbies alike will be charmed by this portrayal of early 20th century British aristocracy and their servants. General Admission $8; Students and Seniors $7.

The Lovin’ Spoonful

Friday–Saturday, 8 p.m., Sunday 6 p.m. @ The Egyptian Theatre

Groove along as these Hall of Famers belt out feel-good hits like "Summer in the City," "Do you Believe in Magic?" and "Rain on the Roof" at the intimate Old Town theatre.

Park City Museum 

Friday and Saturday, 11 a.m.–6 p.m.; Sunday, noon–6 @ Park City Museum

Explore Park City’s rich mining history through interactive and educational exhibits that take you into a mine shaft and old-time jail. Children can complete a “Park City History Detectives” activity, digging deeper into the past.

The Robot Zoo

Wednesday through Friday 10 a.m.–5 p.m.; Saturday and Sunday, 10–4 @ Swaner Nature Preserve

Explore the biomechanics of complex animal robots to discover how real animals work. Little engineers will delight in interactive, hands-on exhibits, such as how chameleons change color and a fly walks on the ceiling. Through January 5th. $6 non-members; children 3 and under free.

Friday, November 29

Tree Lighting & Festivities

Friday 4 –5:30 p.m. @ Canyons Village at Park City Mountain

Get into the holiday spirit with holiday music, photos with Santa, complimentary hot cocoa bar, holiday crafts, crowned by the Canyons Village Christmas tree lighting and fireworks. Free.

Movies During Break: Meet Me in St. Louis

Enjoy free admission and popcorn with the classic musical comedy of the four Smith daughters learning lessons of life and love, even as they prepare for a reluctant move to New York on the advent of the World’s Fair.

Last Friday Gallery Stroll

6–9 p.m. @ Main St. Park City

Bundle up for a festive stroll and enjoy light refreshments while perusing the galleries of Main St. Members of the Park City Gallery Association offer this unique monthly showcase highlighting artists, special exhibits and art events on the last Friday of every month. Free.

Saturday, November 30

Recycle with Santa

11 a.m.–1 p.m. @ Recycle Utah

Recycle with Santa and learn about sustainable practices throughout the holidays. Americans throw away nearly 25% more trash during the holidays than any other time of year, resulting in about 25 million tons of garbage in our landfills. Recycle Utah will offer free packing paper to visitors to be reused for holiday shipping and other packaging purposes, and staff is on hand to answer questions about recycling holiday materials.

Holiday Electric Parade 

4–6:30 p.m. @ Main St. Park City

Get in the holiday spirit with some lights! Head up to Main St. for the Holiday Electric Parade. Participants have the chance to win cash prizes, awarded by a panel of local judges.

Sunday, December 1

Swaner’s Craft Sunday

11 a.m.–1 p.m. @  Swaner EcoCenter

Indulge your crafty kids with a nature-themed craft at the EcoCenter. All ages are welcome.
