Kick off the holiday season with a tree lighting at the Canyons, Electric Parade on Main St., and Recycling with Santa, plus film, live music, and more.

A royal visit from the King and Queen of England has Downton Abbey in a tizzy as a whirlwind of scandal, romance, and intrigue descends upon the Crawley family and their beloved staff in this grand feature film. Based on the PBS series that has delighted audiences around the globe, fans and newbies alike will be charmed by this portrayal of early 20th century British aristocracy and their servants. The Lovin’ Spoonful

Park City Museum

Explore Park City’s rich mining history through interactive and educational exhibits that take you into a mine shaft and old-time jail. Children can complete a “Park City History Detectives” activity, digging deeper into the past. parkcityhistory.org

The Robot Zoo

Wednesday through Friday 10 a.m.–5 p.m.; Saturday and Sunday, 10–4 @ Swaner Nature Preserve

Explore the biomechanics of complex animal robots to discover how real animals work. Little engineers will delight in interactive, hands-on exhibits, such as how chameleons change color and a fly walks on the ceiling. Bundle up for a festive stroll and enjoy light refreshments while perusing the galleries of Main St. Members of the Park City Gallery Association offer this unique monthly showcase highlighting artists, special exhibits and art events on the last Friday of every month. Recycle with Santa

11 a.m.–1 p.m. @ Recycle Utah

Recycle with Santa and learn about sustainable practices throughout the holidays. Americans throw away nearly 25% more trash during the holidays than any other time of year, resulting in about 25 million tons of garbage in our landfills. Recycle Utah will offer free packing paper to visitors to be reused for holiday shipping and other packaging purposes, and staff is on hand to answer questions about recycling holiday materials. www.recycleutah.org

Holiday Electric Parade

Get in the holiday spirit with some lights! Head up to Main St. for the Holiday Electric Parade. Participants have the chance to win cash prizes, awarded by a panel of local judges. historicparkcityutah.com
