Celebrate fall with family friendly (and wine) festivals, get-ready-to-ski films, animal exhibits, and more.

Park City Film Series: Return to Sender

 Friday and Saturday, 8 p.m.; Sunday at 6 p.m. @ the Park City Library

Get psyched for ski season with a riveting look inside the lives of four elite freeskiers, captured in biopics configured around each skier’s home turf.  This film takes you on a wild ride in some of the most progressive big and small mountain skiing ever filmed, culminating in an unbelievable heli trip. Featuring: Mark Abma, Karl Fostvedt, Sam Kuch and Logan Pehota. Park City premiere on Friday with great SWAG and athlete appearances! Encore performances Saturday and Sunday. Thriller!

Friday–Saturday, 8 p.m.; Sunday at 6 p.m. @ The Egyptian Theatre

Prepare to be mystified and mesmerized by a cast of morbid monsters and maniacs. Always a sell-out, this annual show is a Halloween tradition. Warning: this show uses theatrical haze and strobe lighting, and is recommended for ages 12+. parkcityshows.com

Park City Museum 

Friday and Saturday, 10 a.m.–7 p.m.; Sunday, noon–6 @ Park City Museum

Explore Park City’s rich mining history through interactive and educational exhibits that take you into a mine shaft and old-time jail. Children can complete a “Park City History Detectives” activity, digging deeper into the past. parkcityhistory.org

Park City Wine Festival

Thursday through Saturday @ various locations throughout Park City

Raise your glass at the Park City Wine Festival, a weekend of food and wine tastings featuring master winemakers and culinary greats. Experience more than 100 food artisans, wineries, breweries, distilleries, epicurean purveyors, and locally made products in the ultimate food and wine extravaganza. The Robot Zoo

Wednesday–Friday, 10 a.m.–5 p.m.; Saturday–Sunday, 10 a.m.–4 p.m. @ Swaner EcoCenter

Discover how real animals work by checking out the biomechanics of complex animal robots. Swaner's exhibit (through Jan. 5) reveals the magic of nature as a master engineer. Explore the robot animals and hands-on activities, which illustrate fascinating real-life characteristics, such as how a chameleon changes colors and how a fly walks on the ceiling. Great for ages 4 to adult. $6 per person; Admission is free for children 3 and under and members. swanerecocenter.org

Saturday Morning Nature Walk

8:30–10 a.m. @ Swaner EcoCenter

Discover the Swaner Preserve with a guided nature tour, navigating the wetlands while learning about the diverse plant and animal species found in its grasses and waters.  Keep your eyes peeled for an abundance of birds, elk, and perhaps a nesting sandhill crane.  $10 per person, $5 locals, free for Swaner members. swanerecocenter.org

10th Annual Harvest Fest
