From parades to sheepdog competitions, revel in one small town's big fun as we hold on to summer for as long as we possibly can.

All Weekend Long

Park City Area Showcase of Homes

 2 p.m.–8 p.m. Friday; 10 a.m.–6 p.m. Saturday, Sunday, and Labor Day Monday

Visit some of the area’s most luxurious homes in a self-guided tour that ranges from traditional mountain style to mountain contemporary, with top of the line amenities including gourmet kitchens, spa bathrooms, home theaters and custom details featuring the latest technology and architectural innovation. Tickets are $15, available online.


Friday 4–10 p.m., Saturday noon–10 p.m., Sunday noon–6 p.m. @ Canyons Village at Park City Mountain

Transport yourself to a mini-Munich at the Canyons Village for the resort's inaugural Oktoberfest. Enjoy beer in the Bavarian Beer Hall, sample authentic fare in the Bavarian Market, and enjoy Oompah and Polka music while trying your skills at a stein lifting competition or traditional dance.  Kids can explore the Kinder Kids’ zone and much more. Entrance is free and open to the public.

Park City Mountain's inaugural Oktoberfest kicks off this weekend. 

Soldier Hollow Classic

8 a.m.–6 p.m., Friday–Monday @Soldier Hollow Nordic Center

Come on out for four days of family fun and competition featuring the world’s top sheepdogs and herders. Experience sheep-shearing, herding, agility courses and dock-jumping, with demonstrations including Earthwings Raptors Showings, bagpipes, and Navajo weaving.

Friends of the Library Annual Used Book Sale

Saturday through Monday @ the Park City Library

Don’t miss the chance to find thousands of books at bargain basement prices. Become a member and join the Members Only pre-sale Saturday, August 31 from 9–10:30 a.m. Doors open to the public from 10:30 a.m.–3 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. Monday is Bargain Day—fill a bag for $10 from 10:30 a.m.–2 p.m.

The party starts here with Salt Lake City’s classic rock band and fresh tracks and mixes by DJ Jskee. 21+

Saturday, August 31

Saturday Morning Nature Walk

8:30–10 a.m. @ Swaner EcoCenter

Discover the Swaner Preserve with a guided nature tour, navigating the wetlands while learning about the diverse plant and animal species found in its grasses and waters.  Keep your eyes peeled for an abundance of birds, elk, and perhaps a nesting sandhill crane.  $10 per person, $5 locals, free for Swaner members.

Sunday, September 1

Park Silly Sunday Market

10 a.m.5 p.m. @ Main St.

Treat yourself to a Park City favorite—a locally run, eco-friendly, open-air market and street festival, featuring unique and eclectic local and regional arts and crafts, music and performance art, antiques, imports, one-of-a-kind finds, delicious gourmet foods, and farmers market fruits and vegetables. Bike, scooter, or take the bus up to Main St.

Swaner’s Craft Sunday

11 a.m.1 p.m. @  Swaner EcoCenter

Indulge your crafty kids with a nature-themed craft at the EcoCenter. All ages are welcome.

Park City Rotary Club's "Running of the Balls" has become a local tradition as volunteers dress in Pamplona white and attempt to outrun the balls (in lieu of bulls). Locals purchase the tennis balls as a fundraiser and chance to win prizes. 

Miner’s Day Parade and Celebration

8 a.m.–6 p.m. @ City Park and Historic Main St.

Here, Labor Day is Miner’s Day, a celebration of the past and present—with everything from the Pamplona-style “Running of the Balls” Rotary club fundraiser (numbered, lottery-like tennis balls are let loose down Main Street) to an iconic mucking and drilling competition. Experience a truly unique Park City event with something for everyone—a parade, 5K, activities in the park, music, games, and more.

Ongoing Summer Fun

Utah Olympic Park Summer Attractions

From learning about the Utah Olympic Park’s unique sporting heritage in the free museum to taking a ride-of-a-lifetime on the summer bobsled experience, Utah Olympic Park offers activities for all. The park’s summer experiences include the extreme zip line, zip line tour, alpine slide, drop tower, adventure courses and scenic chairlift rides. Hours 10 a.m.–6 p.m. daily. The Flying Ace All-Star Freestyle shows start June 22.

Park City Mountain Summer Activities 

Check out a variety of adventures for guests of virtually any age. Starting Sept. 3, many activities (including lift-served biking and hiking) are open Thursday through Sunday. Hold on for the drops and turns of the alpine coaster, discover the mountain’s hiking and biking trails, or watch your family reach new heights in the Adventure Park. Golf is in full swing at the Canyons, too.

Deer Valley Resort

Scenic chair lift rides and lift-serviced hiking and mountain biking, afternoon e-bike tours, live music and delectable dining. 

Park City Museum 

Friday and Saturday, 10 a.m.–7 p.m.; Sunday, noon–6 @ Park City Museum

Explore Park City’s rich mining history through interactive and educational exhibits that take you into a mine shaft and old-time jail. Children can complete a “Park City History Detectives” activity, digging deeper into the past.
