Park City Weekend Agenda: July 12–14

Dive into local culture with everything from the annual Summit Arts Showcase and Beethoven Festival to an outdoor "E.T" screening accompanied by Utah Symphony and rockin' concerts at local bars ... or get outside on the trails or yoga mat.

All Weekend Long

Flying Ace All-Stars Aerial Show

1 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays @ The Utah Olympic Park

Prepare to be amazed by the gravity defying stunts of the Flying Ace All-Stars, a half-hour choreographed spectacle featuring Olympians, National Team members, and rising stars as this coordinated collaboration of athletes take flight on skis and snowboards.

A Chorus Line

Thursday–Saturday, 8 p.m.; Sunday, 6 p.m. @ The Egyptian Theatre

Step into a day-in-the-life of seventeen dancers desperate for a spot in the “chorus line” of a Broadway musical.  This “Singular Sensation” is directed by the Egyptian’s own Amber Hansen.

Indoor Climbing Wall

Saturday and Sunday, 1-3 p.m. @ Swaner EcoCenter

Kids of all ages can find fun at Swaner EcoCenter’s indoor climbing wall—and a host of eco-friendly exhibits to peruse when they need a breather. Harnesses supplied; please wear shoes with covered toes. Free for members; Fee for non-members.

Summit Yoga Series

9 a.m.–10 a.m. @ Montage Deer Valley

Summit Arts Showcase

4–8 p.m. @ Oakley City Complex, 4300 North, SR 32

Don’t miss this annual juried summer art show at Oakley's Red Barn. Food trucks, art demos, kids' activities and live music.

Singer-Songwriter Showcase

6-9  p.m. @ DeJoria Center’s State Road Tavern

Tune up your instruments and get ready to sing it loud and proud at the Singer Songwriter Showcase.  Performers and guests are invited to enjoy local talent in the foothills of the Uintas. 21+

"Top End Wedding" Screening

7 p.m. @ The Ray Theatre, 1768 Park Ave.

Sundance Institute screens this heartfelt romance, which takes viewers on a sweeping journey from the big city to the Top End of Australia. Get caught up in this emotionally wrought homecoming full of song and dance. Sundance is taking this film indoors—so, no picnic blankets needed. Doors open at 6 p.m. Parking at The Ray Theatre is limited; please park at the Homestake parking lot (a 5-minute walk away) or take public transit. Free.

Saturday, July 13

Saturday Morning Nature Walk

8:30–10 a.m. @ Swaner EcoCenter

Discover the Swaner Preserve with a guided nature tour, navigating the wetlands while learning about the diverse plant and animal species found in its grasses and waters.  Keep your eyes peeled for an abundance of birds, elk, and perhaps a nesting sandhill crane. Free for Swaner members; fee for non-members.

Test your mettle (or just cheer on the runners) in a 16-mile ascent of Jupiter Peak, part of Mountain Trails Foundation's Triple Trail Challenge.

Jupiter Peak Steeplechase

8 a.m.–2 p.m. @ Park City Mountain Resort

Challenge yourself (or come cheer on the racers) for the second stage of the “Triple Trail Series.” This Park City favorite draws elite athletes as well as weekend warriors to test the limits of a course with an elevation profile that resembles an inverted “V” (for vertical!). A 16-mile loop from Park City Mountain Resort (7,000 feet above sea level) to the top of 10,000-foot Jupiter Peak and back down.

Summit Arts Showcase

5:30–8:30 p.m. @ Oakley City Complex, 4300 North, SR 32

E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial Film in concert with the Utah Symphony

7:30 p.m. @ Deer Valley’s Snow Park Amphitheater 

Relive the mystery and excitement of Steven Spielberg’s heartwarming masterpiece under the stars. Bask in the wonder of John Williams’ Academy Award-winning score performed live by the Utah Symphony while enjoying the film on the big screen. Picnics, blankets, and chairs (on west side of General Admission lawn, no higher than 9” from the ground) welcome. Gates open at 5:30 p.m.

Sunday, July 14

Park Silly Sunday Market

10 a.m.–5 p.m. @ Historic Main Street

Bike, scooter, or ride the bus up to Main St. for an eco-friendly, open-air market and street festival. Enjoy eclectic local and regional arts and crafts, music and performance art, antiques, imports and one-of-a-kind finds, delicious gourmet foods, and farmers market fruits and vegetables. 

Beethoven Festival

4:30 p.m. @Temple Har Shalom, 3700 Brookside Court

Award-winning Pianist Hsiang Jon Tu, Clarinetist Russell Harlow and Violist Leslie Harlow perform works by Saint-Saens, Debussy, Messiaen, Beethoven, Bolcom, Bartok, Schumann, Granados and Lizst. Arrive at 4:30 p.m. to enjoy a delectable buffet of gourmet cheeses, fruit and wine before the concert and during intermission. Tickets are $45 per person.

Patrick Ryan

7-10 p.m. @ The Spur Bar & Grill

Patrick Ryan covers old favorites and new, bringing a great time to every performance. 21+

Utah Olympic Park Summer Attractions

From learning about the Utah Olympic Park’s unique sporting heritage in the free museum to taking a ride-of-a-lifetime on the summer bobsled experience, Utah Olympic Park offers activities for all. The park’s summer experiences include the extreme zip line, zip line tour, alpine slide, drop tower, adventure courses and scenic chairlift rides. Hours 10 a.m.–6 p.m. daily. The Flying Ace All-Star Freestyle shows start June 22.

Park City Mountain Summer Activities 

Check out a variety of adventures for guests of virtually any age. Hold on for the drops and turns of the alpine coaster, discover the mountain’s hiking and biking trails, or watch your family reach new heights in the Adventure Park. Golf is in full swing at the Canyons, too.

Deer Valley Resort

Scenic chair lift rides and lift-serviced hiking and mountain biking, afternoon e-bike tours, live music and delectable dining. 

Park City Museum 

Friday and Saturday, 10 a.m.–7 p.m.; Sunday, noon–6 @ Park City Museum

Explore Park City’s rich mining history through interactive and educational exhibits that take you into a mine shaft and old-time jail. Children can complete a “Park City History Detectives” activity, digging deeper into the past.
