Park City Weekend Agenda: August 2–4

Giddyup for two county fairs, the 50th Park City Kimball Arts Festival, all manner of musical entertainment, and more.

Park City Kimball Arts Festival celebrates 50 years this weekend. In honor of the milestone, Summit County residents receive free access to the festival with local I.D.

Park City Kimball Arts Festival 

Friday, 5–9 p.m.; Saturday, 10 a.m.–8 p.m.; Sunday, 10 a.m.–6 p.m. @ Historic Main St.

Incredible art, food, drinks, and live music come together on Main St. to create one of the top-ranked festivals in the country—with proceeds benefitting arts education and free exhibits for the community all year long. Visit the “Creation Station” to create a memorable Arts Fest souvenir, rock out to over 30 bands on 3 stages, sample scrumptious offerings from a wide variety of food trucks, lounge in a spirit garden, and peruse over 13 different categories of visual arts from over 200 different artists.  This year, in honor of the festival's 50th anniversary, Summit Country residents are free (with local I.D.). Wasatch County Fair

Friday and Saturday, 9 a.m.–9 p.m. @ Wasatch County Fairgrounds

Don’t miss poultry and livestock exhibits, country cooking, pageantry and carnival fun at the last weekend of the Wasatch Country Fair. wasatchcountyfair.com

Stand Up Comedy

Friday–Saturday, 8 p.m @ The Egyptian Theatre

No subject is off-limits to hilarious headliners Dwight Slade and Carla Collins. Beer available to those 21+. Under 18 not admitted without parent or guardian.  parkcityshows.com

Flying Ace All-Stars Aerial Show

1 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays @ The Utah Olympic Park

Prepare to be amazed by the gravity defying stunts of the Flying Ace All-Stars, a half-hour choreographed spectacle featuring Olympians, National Team members, and rising stars as this coordinated collaboration of athletes take flight on skis and snowboards. utaholympiclegacy.org

Indoor Climbing Wall

Saturday and Sunday, 1-3 p.m. @ Swaner EcoCenter

Kids of all ages can find fun at Swaner EcoCenter’s indoor climbing wall—and a host of eco-friendly exhibits to peruse when they need a breather. Harnesses supplied; please wear shoes with covered toes. Free for members; Fee for non-members. swanerecocenter.org

Summit Yoga Series

9 a.m.–10 a.m. @ Montage Deer Valley

Settle in for complimentary yoga and guided meditation on the Montage lawn. All levels welcome, with yoga mats provided. Space is limited, reservations necessary to attend.  In the event of rain, yoga will be cancelled.  To RSVP, call (435) 604-1400 or visit montagehotels.com

"Life Animated," part of the Sundance Film Series, screens outdoors at City Park this Friday.

Dusk @ City Park

Bring your favorite movie treats, cozy pillows and blankets, and set up camp in City Park for this heartwarming documentary about Owen Suskind, an autistic boy who finds a voice through Disney movies.  Free.  Come at 7:30 for an array of delicious desserts for purchase from Last Course Dessert Studio.  Parking is limited—bike, walk, or take public transit. An Intimate Evening with Kristen Chenoweth with the Utah Symphony

7:30 p.m. @ Deer Valley’s Snow Park Amphitheater

Chenoweth brings memorable songs and show tunes from Wicked, Glee and more in an exciting  performance with the Utah Symphony.  Picnics, blankets, and chairs (on west side of general admission lawn, no higher than 9” from the ground) welcome. Gates open at 5:30 p.m. deervalleymusicfestival.org

Saturday Morning Nature Walk

8:30–10 a.m. @ Swaner EcoCenter

Discover the Swaner Preserve with a guided nature tour, navigating the wetlands while learning about the diverse plant and animal species found in its grasses and waters.  Keep your eyes peeled for an abundance of birds, elk, and perhaps a nesting sandhill crane. Free for Swaner members; fee for non-members. swanerecocenter.org

Summit County Fair

5–9 p.m. @ Summit County Fairgrounds in Coalville

Enjoy the best part of the Fair—the Fare! Fairground food booths offer everything from hand-battered chicken to street tacos to Navajo tacos, gourmet ices, and fresh corn on the cob.  Quench your thirst with a beverage from the spirit garden. And be sure to reserve your tickets for the Demolition Derby, starting at 7 p.m. summitcountyfair.org

Beethoven Festival

4:30 p.m. @Temple Har Shalom, 3700 Brookside Court

Acclaimed pianist Pamela Palmer Jones, Clarinetist Russell Harlow, and Violist Leslie Harlow performing an all-Beethoven program. Arrive at 4:30 p.m. to enjoy a delectable buffet of gourmet cheeses, fruit and wine before the concert and during intermission. Tickets are $45 per person. Utah Olympic Park Summer Attractions

From learning about the Utah Olympic Park’s unique sporting heritage in the free museum to taking a ride-of-a-lifetime on the summer bobsled experience, Utah Olympic Park offers activities for all. The park’s summer experiences include the extreme zip line, zip line tour, alpine slide, drop tower, adventure courses and scenic chairlift rides. Park City Mountain Summer Activities
