"Arctic" Screening

Friday and Saturday, Mar 29-30, 8 p.m.; Sunday, Mar. 31, 6 p.m. @ Park City Library

A gripping story of one man’s quest to survive in the most challenging environment on earth. After his plane crashes, a man must decide whether to stay in his makeshift camp or embark into the deadly unknown in hope of making it out alive. Indiewire called it “One of the best movies ever made about survival.”

Park City Museum

Explore Park City’s rich mining history through hands-on and educational exhibits that take you into a mine shaft and old-time jail. Children can complete a “Park City History Detectives” activity, providing the whole family with a way to dig deeper into Park City’s past through interactive exhibits.

Nature’s Ninjas

Wed-Sun @ Swaner EcoCenter 10 a.m.-4 p.m.

Discover some of nature’s best defense mechanisms up close and personal with geckoes, porcupines, and their brethren in this traveling exhibit. Swaner’s EcoCenter offers a number of permanent environmentally-inspired exhibits—and don’t miss the climbing wall on Saturdays and Sundays, from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m.

Cold Places: Photographs by Sue Flood

10 a.m. daily through April 7 @ Kimball Art Center 

Photographer Sue Flood captures the awe-inspiring grandeur of Earth’s coldest places, Antarctica and the Arctic, bringing viewers rare glimpses of nature in a changing climate.  From penguins to wide stretches of vast wilderness, Flood contemplates the stunning beauty of the far reaches of the earth. Adjacent to the Main Gallery, don’t miss Café Gallery exhibit: “Paul Crow: On Ice.”

"The Providers" Screening and Q&A

7-9 p.m. @ Park City Library

This heart-warming documentary follows the work of three healthcare providers in northern New Mexico as they struggle to assist rural Americans who might otherwise be left out of the system. This free screening at the Jim Santy Auditorium illustrates the transformative power of medical providers’ relationships with patients. Post-film Q&A moderated by Beth Armstrong, Executive Director of People’s Health Clinic. The panel will include: Si Hutt, Intermountain Administrator for Heber Valley Hospital, Dr. Wing Province, MD, MBA, Medical Director for Intermountain Healthcare Leadership Institute and Park City Hospital Emergency Room Physician, and Rachelle Flinn, PA-C, Director of Clinical Services at People’s Health Clinic. Free.

Night Sky Navigation Workshop

7-8:30 p.m. @ Swaner Preserve and EcoCenter

Join Paul Ricketts, Director of the University of Utah’s Observatory, in this illuminating introductory workshop. Learn to use star maps to locate objects in a telescope. Dress warmly, this is an outside event. Space is limited, be sure to register to secure your spot.

3-6 p.m. @ EBS Lounge, Deer Valley Resort

Wait out skier traffic while soaking in the sounds of live music at Snow Park Lodge. If it’s a bluebird day, grab an upper-deck table and revel in the sun and après ambiance.

This award-winning, contemporary dance company returns from their world tour to the Park City stage to delight and astonish audiences once again. Founding Artistic Director David Parson’s signature athletic ensemble brings stories to life through the mesmerizing drama of dance.

Star Party

8-10 p.m. @ Wasatch Mountain State Park

Kick off International Dark Sky Week with s’mores and stars! Treat the family to an out-of-this-world learning experience with the Salt Lake Astronomical Society.  Hands-on activities, treats, and an opportunity drawing round out this star-studded evening.
