During the summers, you can find somewhere to get your groove on nearly every day of the week. While the options are a bit fewer during the shoulder season (now until June), there's still some booty-shaking to be in had in Park City while we all wait for the trails to dry. Mark your calendars for the following performances.
Nicky Romero
Thursday, April 12
There's no better way to get over your end-of-the-season blues than a dance party. Dutch electronic DJ Nicky Romero takes the stage at Park City Live on Thursday, April 12. The prolific, Amsterdam-based artist has ranked within the top 10 of DJ Magazine’s Top 100 DJs poll and released numerous chart-topping electronic singles. Grab your tickets via the Park City Live website.
The English Beat
Saturday, April 14
Good times and a healthy fusion of ska, pop, soul, reggae, and punk rock await when The English Beat takes the stage at O.P. Rockwell on April 14. Known simply as "The Beat" in their native England, this band rushed onto the music scene in 1979 and has held onto their appeal for nearly three decades. It's the Main Street outing for a shoulder season weekend.
Kiefer Sutherland
Wednesday, April 18
You may be wondering what Kiefer Sutherland, best known for his role as Jack Bauer from the hit drama series 24, is doing on a music round-up. In his free time, Sutherland has actually been pursuing a secondary musical career since the 2000s. He released his studio debut Down in the Hole in 2016 and even went on tour, appearing at the 2016 Academy of Country Music Awards. Catch his show at Park City Live.
Musicians Fight Hunger Benefit Concert
Saturday, May 19
For a show that's working double time, check out the Musicians Fight Hunger Benefit Concert at the DeJoria Center in Kamas on May 19 at 5 p.m. Musicians are teaming up with the Utah Food Bank, which distributed 32.7 million meals statewide last year, to fight hunger. Bands taking the stage include Seven Second Memory, Az-Iz, Loss of Existence, Hanover Fiist, False Witness, A Lost Asylum, and Limitless. Entry is free with the donation of a non-perishable food item and all ages are welcome.
Brian Culbertson
Thursday, May 24
Award-winning, multi-instrumentalist Brian Culbertson began his musical career at age 8 with the piano, but it wasn't long before he picked up several other instruments as well. Many years and 18 albums later, Culbertson's contemporary jazz continues to enchant as he draws from the best of iconic R&B-jazz-pop artists of the 1970s like Earth, Wind & Fire, Tower of Power, Chicago, David Sanborn and others. For more information, check out O.P. Rockwell's website.
