Get Stoked with "Here Comes Winter" Movie Screenings

We are officially in November and the countdown to the resorts' opening day is now underway. While we eagerly await the first monstrous dump of the year, there's no better way to get stoked than with a night of epic ski films from Wasatch Mountain Arts. On Nov. 3rd the Wasatch Mountain Film Festival is hosting the "Here Comes Winter" event and you're invited!
The goal of "Here Comes Winter" is very simply this: to bring the fans of winter together for a good time. "The Wasatch Mountains are home to one of the most incredible mountain communities in the world," says Ozzie Tomas, Director of Marketing Communications for Wasatch Mountain Arts. "We believe in showcasing this special place we call home."
The festivities begin at 5 p.m. with a screening pre-party where you can mingle with like-minded locals and friends while enjoying light refreshments and snacks. A few of the companies that will be on hand to give out schwag and other prizes include backcountry.com, KIND snacks, Steel Design by Anthony Stilinovich, and gift baskets from Red Rock Brewing (though the event itself is alcohol free). Save Our Canyons, a local non-profit dedicated to environmental sustainability and protecting our backcountry, will also be on hand at this event. Screenings of Here and Now and Peregrine begin at 7 p.m. Tickets are just $6 per person and may be purchased online. Proceeds from this event will go toward the 2017 edition of the Wasatch Mountain Film Festival, happening in June.

Produced by 4FRNT, Here and Now features the skiing talent of Eric Hjorleifson, David Wise, Wiley Miller, Thayne Rich, and Cam Riley. The film begs the question, "Would you rather keep your head buried in your phone and live your life through the internet, or get into the outdoors for real adventures with real people?" If you're here in Park City, we're guessing the latter.
