Bringing Whole-person Healthcare to Park City: Dr. Nadya Wayment and MDVIP

Presented by MDVIP September 18, 2025

With more than 20 years in the medical field, Park City family care physician Dr. Nadya P. Wayment is one of a network of more than 1,400 primary care doctors across the country who have left high-volume clinics to embrace MDVIP, a system that stresses the whole patient and preventive healthcare.

“I am so excited to be a part of this model,” Dr. Wayment says. “I love being in contact with patients, and I couldn’t imagine doing anything else in life. But, there’s only so much you can do in a high-volume model. MD VIP allows me to give more choices and a higher quality connection. With this model, there’s so much more prevention and so much care, and I can connect with people at a whole different level, to explain all their different options. I was always proud of listening and hearing. But the standard healthcare system has changed so much from the time I started, it makes it difficult for a physician to deliver the care patients deserve and still handle the time constraints.”

A Wellness Program for all ages

An innovative healthcare model that is known for its Wellness Program, MDVIP limits the number of patients who can enroll with any physician, and most physicians see no more than 8-10 patients a day, whereas typical clinic doctors will see from 20-30. This lets each doctor focus on each patient, with appointments starting on time and lasting longer than typical visits. Same- and next-day appointments, availability after hours, and on weekends for urgent matters are standard.

The Wellness Program at the heart of MDVIP allows each doctor to work closely with patients to do advanced screenings and diagnostic tests, which typically are not covered by insurance. An annual fee covers the program’s tests and personalized wellness plans. Doctors follow patients’ progress closely and support them in their health goals.

“The wellness program really expands the horizons,” Dr. Wayment says. “It allows patients to have more services, more blood work done, and a deeper look into their future. I have the ability to do prevention on a totally different level than I've had before. This program pretty much belongs to just about any age group.”

Knowing each patient is priceless

Says Dr. Wayment, “As my practice in Park City is so new, I do have a couple of patients who are transitioning to this model, and their feedback has been very rewarding. They tell me they’ve never had so much time with a doctor to get their questions answered. They feel so much more connected, with as much time as they need to consider so many options. Most of them have actually never had a physical exam. In a standard practice, one is always running behind, with no time to talk about more than two issues and no time to do a thorough physical exam.”

Originally from Chernivtsy, Ukraine, where her mother was a pediatrician, Dr. Wayment is Board-certified in Family Medicine, a Member of the American Academy of Family Physicians, and certified in Pediatric Advanced Life Support and Advanced Cardiac Life Support. “I do not believe this is the system for any physician,” Dr. Wayment says. “You need to have the experience of advocating for patients and families, and you need to be a seasoned physician with deep experience in family, preventive medicine.

“I became a family medicine physician so I could provide the deep knowledge that comes from knowing each patient and treating them over years. This is absolutely priceless because we learn so much, and the bond is so strong. If I do need a specialist, I can pick up the phone and call any specialist and give them a complete history and be my patient’s advocate. That’s the dream of any physician. The MDVIP model allows us to address acute issues when they arise, but in the context of the whole person."

“I hope that many more people and patients will have access to this integrated, whole people model — focusing on healing, taking people to their best functionality and giving them the best life possible.”
