Mountain biking is to summer as skiing is to winter in Park City. While we certainly have our share of extreme terrain and riders who shred dirt as hard as pow, there's still plenty of fun places to go for those who have only been on a mountain bike a handful of times. If you're looking for an easier, yet entertaining ride, for you and your family, check out these awesome beginner-friendly trails in Park City.

Holy Roller

In the past couple years, Deer Valley has really stepped up their game with trails for all levels. Beginners should head up to Holy Roller, the flow trail created for the least experienced riders where you'll have the chance to get your feet wet, descending 1,300 feet over five, fun, twisty miles through Deer Valley's gorgeous mountain views and aspen groves. A lift ticket is required, but if you buy the full day pass ($45 adults, $35 kids ages 6-12), you can ride the loop as many times as you want and once you feel comfortable, you also have access to Deer Valley's intermediate trail, Tidal Wave.

Jenni's Trail

Over at Park City Resort, stronger beginners can try out the popular Jenni's Trail, easily be spotted from the chairlift. Many riders choose to take the lift (day pass $30 adult, $26 kids) up to the Mid Mountain Trail and make the 1,300 foot descent through aspens and across ski runs on smooth switchbacks. If you don't want to spring for a lift ticket and aren't afraid of climbing a bit, you can hop on the trail from the base of Park City close to the First Time lift below the zip line. Note: Jenni’s Trail is uphill only for bikers for the 1st mile. Due to construction and installation of new snowmaking equipment, the trail will be interrupted between Upper Loose Moose and Mid Mountain for most of summer 2017 (for more updates check out Mountain Trails Facebook page).

Round Valley Trail System

The Round Valley area offers a number of trails, giving families plenty of options for riding longer or shorter sections of single/doubletrack. Head out to Quinn's Junction off of Kearns Blvd and start your adventure at the Quinn's Trailhead Kiosk. From here hop onto Fast Pitch or Hat Trick and complete the loop, if you're up for a little longer you can add Matt's Flat to your ride as well.
