Born from an apple orchard in Kamas Valley, Dendric Estate is making headlines as a premier mountain cidery. With a strong focus on sustainability and celebrating natural flavors, the brand plans to release its first line of dry ciders this summer.
Co-founders Brendan and Carly Coyle are the husband-and-wife team behind the label. Parkites may recognize Brendan as the master distiller for High West Distillery, where Carly also worked after moving to Park City in 2009. The couple is eager to share their passion for quality beverages and the mountain lifestyle with Dendric Estate.
“We wanted to create the style of cider we like—dry and crisp—and no one was doing it, so we decided to make a go of it,” Carly explains.
Slated for a June release, cider enthusiasts can expect two sparkling dry ciders made through the Charmat method and offering a crisp and vibrant profile. These first releases, crafted from the fall 2024 apple harvest, promise a delicate balance of tannins and acids, with complexity and freshness at the forefront. The corked and caged ciders will debut across Utah and expand regionally with direct-to-consumer online sales shortly after.
Located on a 20-acre patch of land, Dendric Estate embodies its mission to protect and nourish the land. The 3-acre orchard features 33 apple varieties and 3,240 trees. The estate’s classic ciders express the terroir of the Kamas Valley, producing flavors that reflect both the fruit and the environment in which it’s grown.
Sustainability is woven into Dendric’s approach. Every step of the process—farming, pressing, and fermentation—is guided by environmentally sustainable practices to ensure the land thrives for generations. Water conservation is central to these practices.
While the brand is just getting started, the Coyles already have plans for the future: They’re creating a destination for cider lovers to experience their product in person. The design and engineering plans for an on-premises tasting room are set to open later this year. Cider pairings and a curated small-plate menu will be offered, as well as a space for weddings, events, and private gatherings.
