Jade’s Cafe

Amid the Wasatch Back’s picturesque landscape lies charming Heber City, a hidden gem for food enthusiasts seeking a delicious culinary experience. Embark on an enticing journey through this quaint town, where each eatery tells a story through its flavors, ambience, and hospitality. From cozy cafes to grab-and-go eats, Heber offers a diverse epicurean backdrop that will delight even the most discerning palates.

Granny’s Drive In

511 S Main St, Heber City, 435-604-5062

This Heber mainstay has been serving burgers, fries, and sky-high shakes seven days a week since 1982. Granny’s signature shakes are a must-order on any visit—choose from 10 flavors, including rocky road, grasshopper, and butter pecan, or create your own with mix-ins. Pair your creamy treat with an avocado burger or jalapeño pepper jack burger, both made with a 1/3-pound brisket short rib patty on a Salt City Baking butter-glazed bun. And, of course, don’t forget fry sauce for smearing and dipping.

Heber Valley Artisan Cheese

920 River Rd, Midway, 435-654-0291

This award-winning dairy farm and creamery has been producing quality milk for nearly 100 years. In 2011, the Kohler family branched out into cheese making using their farm’s milk to make aged artisan delights. Today, they offer five types of cheese in 40 flavors. Try the award-winning Wasatch Back Jack on a customized grilled cheese sandwich with a bowl of homemade tomato basil soup in the farm store. Dairy farm tours and cheese tastings are also available.

Jade’s Cafe

200 E Gateway Plaza, Ste 100, Heber City, 435-315-3686

Referring to the cuisine served here as “food for the mountains,” co-owner Mason Squires and his wife, Halle (Jade is her middle name), created a hearty menu full of sticks-to-the-ribs kind of fuel. For breakfast or lunch, try the pork and beans: crispy pork belly, braised beans and greens, two eggs your way, and sourdough bread. For dinner, start with the roasted carrots with barbecue spice, crispy garlic, local hot honey, and herbs, before diving into crispy confit chicken, roasted salmon, or the double patty smash burger.

Back 40 Ranch House Grill

1223 N Hwy 40, Heber City, 435-654-3070

Owned by Gary Wohlfarth, Back 40 is a family-friendly eatery located on the backside of Highway 40 (hence the restaurant’s name). Back 40 focuses on quality, local ingredients, sourcing beef from Circle Bar Ranch and cheese from Heber Valley Artisan Cheese to craft dishes that are the epitome of comfort. Try Mario’s Meatloaf with succotash, mashed potatoes, and brown mushroom gravy, or the buttermilk fried Red Barn Chicken, a fond food memory from Wohlfarth’s grandma’s kitchen.

June Pie

June Pie

2175 W 3000 S, Heber City, 435-503-6950

Crafted with passion and precision, June Pie owner Tehmi Brimhall celebrates the art of homemade pies using fresh, local ingredients.
